Good, Better, Breast…Never Let it Rest!
Tuesday, February 18th, 2015 — Recently, we announced that Digital Fuel would be attending the annual London Affiliate Conference (LAC), and this time, we decided to do something a little out of the box. Instead of the costly giveaways that many businesses get caught up in, Digital Fuel’s CEO Toby Oddy pitched a “lead generator” with a twist to his team.
With a little quick discussion, Oddy’s idea began to take shape, and the concept of holding a fundraiser at LAC for Breast Cancer Research was born. A little more creative thinking and planning morphed into the promotion, “Flirt for a Cause – Give Thanks for the Mammaries”.
We decided to keep it easy for LAC-goers to get involved. All attendees had to do was hit the Digital Fuel Affiliates Stand at London, Olympia, and let our promotional host, Libby, record their name and email contact. For every unique name Libby collected, we promised to donate 50 pence to Breast Cancer Research.
So, not only did it allow us to achieve one of our LAC goals of capturing important, relevant data, but it has tied us in nicely to a charitable donation for the very worthy outfit, BreastCancerCampaign.org, a worldwide organization that funds life saving medical research to help find a cure for Breast Cancer.
Digital Fuel’s selection of the Breast Cancer Campaign as their charity of choice, was a cheeky, yet respectful nod to the proliferation of boob-a-licious promotional models on show every year at LAC.
And now that the dust has settled, and we’ve all recovered from our sleepless nights at LAC, we are happy to say that we managed to collect a solid 700 contacts across two days of Libby on the case. While we could easily leave it at a GOOD £350.00 token towards Breast Cancer Research, (every little bit helps, right?) we’ve decided that’s just not good enough.
So, Digital Fuel has decided to do BETTER; we will be cutting a charitable check for the BreastCancerCampaign.org to the tune of £1,000.
However, not one to settle for just good or even better, we’re also calling on the industry to dig deep, donate, and to help us make our fundraising effort the absolute BEST that it can be.
The sad reality is that 1 in 8 women (in the UK alone) will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Digital Fuel’s LAC fundraiser is your chance to help make a difference in the lives of all women everywhere affected by Breast Cancer.

We’re currently sitting at just over £1,200, including our £1,000 donation, and we’d love to kick it up to the Just Giving fundraiser target of £4,000.
